Impractical Home Improvement Hacks

Everyone talks about hacks and how thinking in a different way and using things differently can help you. Home improvement is about making sense hence here we are today to stop you from using these impractical hacks.

1. Absorbing Odors with NewspapersFood covered in newspaper

This is one of the biggest myths. As we can easily smell the difference between a new fridge and a year old fridge. The smell will be different. Hence there is a myth that wrapping the things in the newspaper before keeping it in the fridge will maintain the new smell of the fridge. This is very impractical and it is not true. It will not help in any way. In fact, the newspaper once gets wet will make our work double.

2. Making Your Home Smell Better

Everyone wants their home to smell better and one of the hacks for it is to place a fresh dryer sheet on your air vents. Now, this just sounds impractical because this will end up blocking your air vent. This will in return prove that there is no air circulation in your home. You will feel suffocated in a few hours.

3. Adding Lemon Wedges To The Dishwasher

We agree that adding lemon can bring the scent and clean the dishes more effectively. Although this is not the case with this hack. There is a hack around that adding lemon wedges to your dishwasher will clean your dishes more effectively. This is impractical because the dishwasher is used under great pressure of water, hence the lemon wedges will not make any change in effectiveness to your cleaning.

4. Vinegar and Baking Soda

This is also one of the impractical hacks to cleaning. Vinegar and Baking soda can be used as a substitute for cleaning. There are not harsh chemicals either compared to other chemicals out there. However, mixing them does not make sense. When you mix these two, you will only get saltwater. Now, saltwater is not helpful for cleaning. Hence this is an impractical hack.

5. Using Mason Jars For Decorating

Decorative Mason Jars

This can also turn out to be an impractical hack very quickly. Nowadays it has become a trend of using mason jas or cans for decoration purposes. It is not impractical completely but it can become impractical in some cases. When you use these mason jars and cans for decoration you also need to think about the surrounding in which you are using them. It will not go with every kind of setting. It will give a rustic and old look. Hence the environment and the setting also need to be matching with it. You can not use it in a room full of modern tiles and tech.
